The only downside to this clinic is that you need to arrive at least an hour before they open to be anywhere near the front of the queue.
That said, you get a link to a queue app so you can go off and come back later once you’ve signed in, and no need to sit in a waiting room for a couple of hours.
Small thing, some staff could be louder/clearer calling names in the waiting room.
Went to walk in at 9 am which was the earliest I could get there. Got snapped at by receptionist to close the door behind me (genuine oversight, thought it was a self closing one). Asked to fill a form out. I have throat symptoms and there was nothing applicable to this on the form so I had to point it out right there in reception within earshot of other people. Got put in a queue. I was position 20 which then went up not down. Asked the receptionist honestly how long was it likely to take, she avoided the question. Told I’d get a text when I was in the top 3 waiting. 2.5 hours later I’d gone from 20 to 14. At that rate I’d be lucky to be seen at all and as I work nights and hadn’t slept I had to give up and go home. And this was on a week day. Avoid.
Terrible experience.
I arrived at 11:30am and being now 4:04PM, I haven’t been seen yet.
Many people came after me and left before me. Their explanation was that there are different clinics, which doesn’t explain why they’re making me wait 5h.
Outstanding care from reception to diagnosis and treatment... yes, you have to wait a while but the system is really good and you don't have to hang around in a reception for ages with the brilliant text queue service. Its impossible to find fault here.
It was ok overall
100% would recommend this practice. Very respectful and polite staff, a nice environment and state of the art treatment. I even managed to book an appointment for the same day. If you're hesitating about going, or worried about anything, don't be. Burrell Street can help!
Efficient
Awful - makes you think twice about whether the NHS can do its job.
The walkin service was very busy so I was seen 5 hours after I walked in (the nature of a walk in service), however the service has a que system where you can track your place on your phone so you canleave to return when near the front of the que. The service also texts you to say you are near the front.
The staff were very friendly, and the nurse specialist I saw spent time answering all my questions.
The wait was very long and for the first 30 minutes I didn’t receive a text so I had no idea what was going on.
The doctor was absolutely fantastic.
There was one member of reception staff who was exceptionally rude - both today and yesterday.
